The Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia S.Amartuvshin gave the order to put into operation a thermal plant with a capacity of 90 MW which built within the framework of the “Zamiin-Uud Infrastructure Improvement Project” initiated by the Governor’s administration of the “Zamiin-Uud” Free Zone, during his working visit to Dornogovi aimag last spring and related funding funded from the Government Reserve Fund.
In accordance with this order, a working group was established and the Ministry of Energy provided technical and methodological support to the operation of the thermal plant.
Engineers and technicians of Amgalan Thermal Power Plant State Joint Stock Company and the Third Thermal Power Plant worked together with staffs of the Zamiin-Uud thermal plant to adjust and put into operation thermal plant.

The plant has three 29 MW boilers, each with a smoke filter that completely filters the smoke and does not emit any particles or toxic substances into the air. This is important to reduce emissions, including flue gases and ash particles.
In the future, monitoring, measurement and adjustment works will be carried out at the station, including automatic adjustment and connect two banks, one shopping center, one town and the central complex of Zamiin-Uud border port under construction within the “Development Guide-Infrastructure” project. The new buildings are planned to heat a total area of 740-800 thousand cubic meters.
