Delegation from Erenhot Economic Cooperation Zone, China, Inspects Operations of the Zamiin-Uud Free Zone

On November 14, 2025, an office delegation led by Li Hailong, Deputy Director of the Economic Cooperation Zone of Erenhot City, China, visited the Mongolian side of the “Zamiin-Uud–Erenhot Economic Cooperation Zone” to conduct an on-site inspection of its operations. The delegation reviewed the zone’s operational status, infrastructure development, progress of border-crossing linkage projects, and the business activities of enterprises operating within the zone, and held exchanges on cooperation.

The Chinese delegation focused on facilities constructed under the “Zamiin-Uud Infrastructure Improvement Project,” which was implemented with preferential loans from the Chinese government. These facilities included the Zamiin-Uud thermal power plant, sewage treatment facilities and pipeline networks, and water purification facilities. The head of the administrative management department of the thermal power plant, together with the chief engineer, provided detailed briefings to the delegation, and both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on related issues.

In addition, Amgalan, Head of the Department of External Relations, Cooperation, and Information Technology of the Zamiin-Uud Free Zone, introduced to the Chinese delegation the overall master plan of the free zone, progress in border coordination and border linkage work, the status of infrastructure construction, and information on enterprises operating within the zone.

The two sides conducted extensive discussions on a range of topics, including further expanding cooperation, regularly co-hosting events to attract mutual investment, building a digital promotional platform for the “Economic Cooperation Zone” targeting domestic and international investors, and advancing green and ecological development in phases. They unanimously agreed to promptly coordinate and take timely measures to address the current challenges.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Chinese delegation stated that the meeting was conducted in a pragmatic and friendly atmosphere, and that gaining a firsthand understanding of the actual situation was of great significance.
