Twenty years have passed since the first concept of establishing a free zone was approved in Mongolia. Successive governments have set goals to intensify the activities of free zones, support foreign and domestic investment, and working to complete the construction of free zone infrastructure. Within the framework of this goal, the first phase of construction of electricity supply, heat supply, water supply, sewerage, road and communication facilities to provide infrastructure to Zamiin-Uud soum and Zamiin-Uud free zone have been completed.

The Action Plan of the Government of Mongolia for 2020-2024 states that “infrastructure development of free zones should be carried out in stages, creating conditions for the development of trade, services and light industry for export and domestic markets, supporting foreign and domestic investors, operate the Zamiin-Uud free zone into permanent operation, put major goals include the establishment of a cross-border economic cooperation zone based on territorial and market advantages.

The Governor’s Administration of “Zamiin-Uud” Free Zone, within the scope of its main functions and powers outlined in the “Law on Free Zones”, We aim to intensify our activities of the export, import, and re-export of the country based on the territorial and market advantages, and develop the strategic region for mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation and becoming important gateway connecting Asia and Europe.

As a result, there are favorable conditions for expanding their business operations for domestic and foreign investors and companies operating in the free zone will be able to take advantage of Mongolia’s “Free Zone Law” and foreign trade, customs, and tariff preferential agreements with highly developed countries of the world.

By support of the companies invested in the Zamiin-Uud Free Zone, we will working hard to introduce foreign innovations and domesticate high technologies, develop the free zone into an export-oriented zone, and create new opportunities to improve employment.
