The Government of Mongolia, with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), is implementing the L3936-MON: Economic Cooperation Zone for Mongolia project.
Within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Zone Development Project, aim is to connect Mongolia to the regional value chain by diversifying the Mongolian economy and increasing exports and employment.

The Project Implementing Agency is the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, and the executing agencies are the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development and the Governor’s administration of the Zamyn-Uud Free Zone. Within the framework of the project, the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office will select a consulting company to develop detailed engineering designs for the construction tendering of the Zamyn-Uud Free Zone and plans to operate it for 15 calendar months.

Objective and Purpose of the Assignment
The purpose of the Detailed Engineering Design (DED) is to prepare a Phase 1 investment package for
civil works and related goods procurement suitable for construction tendering. The assignment will include DED infrastructure, gateway facility, and solid waste transfer and recycling station for Phase 1 and consisting of the following three components i) Component I. Developing a DED for infrastructure components of Zamyn-Uud Free Zone (ZUFZ) Phase 1; ii) Component II. Developing a DED
for a Phase 1 Gateway facility and Solid waste transfer and recycling station of ZUFZ; and iii) Conducting a Detailed Environment Impact Assessment in ZUFZ.
