Prime Minister of Mongolia G. Zandanshatar Visited the “Zamiin-Uud” Free Zone

On January 11, 2026, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, G. Zandanshatar, together with Minister of Finance B. Javkhlan, Minister of Road and Transport B. Delgersaikhan, and representatives of relevant agencies, paid a working visit to the “Zamiin-Uud” Free Zone located in Zamiin-Uud, Dornogovi Province.

During the visit, the Governor of the “Zamiin-Uud” Free Zone, Z. Boldbaatar, presented information on the free zone’s operations, infrastructure development, the “Economic Cooperation Zone Development Project,” the intergovernmental agreement between Mongolia and China on establishing the “Zamiin-Uud–Erenhot Economic Cooperation Zone,” the measures being implemented within the framework of the agreement, and the challenges currently faced.

Prime Minister G. Zandanshatar noted that the intergovernmental agreement between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on establishing the “Zamiin-Uud–Erenhot Economic Cooperation Zone” was ratified by the State Great Khural in 2021. He emphasized the importance of developing strategies and plans aligned with international experience, regional characteristics, and comparative advantages.

He also instructed the free zone administration to improve land management within the free zone, strengthen control over the origin of alcohol and tobacco products sold by business entities, and to take necessary measures to address these issues.
